The Gildan G880B is a youth jersey polo built on 6 oz 50/50 cotton/polyester DryBlend fabric. The DryBlend technology wicks moisture away from the body through the polyester content while the cotton provides a soft hand against the skin. At 6 oz, the polo is heavier than most youth tees, which gives embroidery hoops a more stable substrate and reduces the puckering that lightweight youth garments are prone to.
The welt-knit collar and cuffs hold shape through repeated washing and maintain a professional appearance for school uniform, youth sports, and camp programs. A two-button placket with woodtone buttons sits clean for left-chest embroidery. The heat transfer label eliminates a sewn tag for a flat lay. Double-needle stitched hemmed bottom adds durability.
For decoration, the 50/50 blend means polyester is present in every colour. DTF transfers are the most practical method because they bond consistently regardless of poly content. Embroidery runs clean on the 6 oz body. Screen printing with plastisol needs a poly-block underbase on dark and coloured grounds with moderate cure to prevent dye migration. DTG is possible but the 50% polyester mutes output compared to 100% cotton. Discharge printing and sublimation will not work on this blend.
