The Gildan G220 is a 6.1 oz preshrunk 100% cotton Ultra Cotton tank top built for volume decoration programs. The heavyweight cotton body holds heavy ink deposit cleanly, making it a reliable substrate for screen-printed event tanks, gym tanks, and promotional programs where per-unit cost matters. The preshrunk fabric minimizes size shift after the first wash, which is important for decorated garments where print registration needs to hold.
For decorators, the 100% cotton body (Ash 99/1, Sport Grey 90/10) takes all cotton-friendly decoration methods. Screen printing with plastisol produces sharp, opaque results with white underbase on dark grounds. DTG prints are vibrant on the cotton surface. Water-based and discharge inks produce a soft in-shirt hand on cotton solids. DTF transfers bond consistently across the full colour card. Embroidery works but keep stitch count moderate on the tank body to avoid pucker. The banded neck and armholes prevent stretch-out that would distort print placement near the neckline.
