The Gildan G200 Ultra Cotton is a 6.0 oz/yd² 100% ring-spun cotton blank t-shirt — heavier than the G500 (5.3 oz) and positioned for programs where a substantial hand feel and maximum ink holdout are the priority. At 6.0 oz, it is one of the heavier standard-construction blanks available at wholesale pricing, making it a common choice for high-coverage screen print work, event tees that need to last multiple seasons, and institutional programs where durability matters more than drape.
For screen printing, the 6.0 oz ring-spun cotton surface delivers excellent ink holdout for both spot-colour and high-coverage plastisol prints. The heavier weight means less bleed-through risk on dark garments and a more stable platen grip during printing. For DTF heat transfers, the 6.0 oz cotton construction bonds cleanly with DTF adhesives and handles the heat press cycle without distortion — heavier cotton holds the transfer surface flat. For DTG printing, pre-treatment is required on all coloured variants; white G200 produces clean results on standard DTG machines without pre-treatment. For embroidery, the 6.0 oz weight provides a solid, stable substrate for left-chest and full-front embroidery without additional backing on most standard designs.
