The Dickies 1574 is a short-sleeve work shirt constructed from 5.25 oz 65/35 polyester/cotton twill with stain release and moisture-wicking finish. This is Dickies' most established work shirt silhouette, built for uniform programmes in automotive, industrial, maintenance, food service, and hospitality environments where a collared shirt is required and durability matters more than retail softness.
Two chest flap pockets with pencil division provide tool and pen storage. Non-break melamine buttons resist cracking in industrial laundering. The generous fit through shoulders and chest allows layering over thermals. A square tail hem works tucked or untucked. The 65/35 poly-cotton twill resists wrinkles, releases stains, and wicks moisture, holding a professional appearance through a full shift. Sizes run S-5XL.
For decoration, embroidery is the primary method for work shirts. The structured 5.25 oz twill face holds high stitch counts cleanly, and left-chest placement above the pocket flap is the standard position for company logos. DTF transfers bond firmly to the poly-cotton twill. Screen printing works on the flat back panel for large crew identification graphics; the 65% polyester content requires poly-block underbase and lower cure to prevent dye migration and scorching. DTG is not recommended on poly-majority twill.
