The Devon & Jones DG20W CrownLux Performance Plaited Polo is built on a 5.0 oz / 172 gsm dual-sided mesh pique knit: 100% fine denier wicking polyester on the face, plaited to a 60/40 poly-cotton back. Total garment composition is 61% polyester, 39% cotton. The trade detail is in the construction: the polyester face manages moisture and provides UV/UPF 15-39 protection on active outdoor programs, while the cotton-blend back keeps the interior softer against skin than a 100% polyester shell. The plaited knit produces a denser pique than single-face polyester performance polos, which gives the garment a structured appearance and a stable surface for left-chest logo placement. The curved back yoke with center pleat and side vents are women's-specific cuts that affect decoration placement compared to the men's DG20: the center pleat at the yoke means a full-back DTF or screen print should be sized to land below that seam line.
Embroidery is the primary and most natural decoration method for the DG20W across all 14 colorways. The plaited mesh pique holds stitch registration reliably; use a topping film over the mesh surface to prevent needle deflection through the mesh openings. Left-chest placement opposite the three-button placket is standard for corporate and hospitality logo programs. DTF transfers bond well to the polyester face and are the most practical choice for full-color left-chest or back art across the full color range. Screen printing with plastisol works on the flat front and back panels, but the pique texture is visible through thin ink deposits. Use a heavier ink load and test on a sample garment before a production run. DTG is not a viable route on the polyester face substrate. Sublimation gives partial results on White given the poly face, but the 39% cotton back limits saturation and consistency across the range. Vinyl and HTV bond at standard temperature on the polyester face for names, numbers, and small single-color designs.
