The Tie-Dye CD101Y is the youth version of the CD101 spider tie-dye tee. Each shirt starts as a 5.4 oz 100% cotton prepared-for-dye blank with no optical brighteners or bleaches, then goes through a reactive hand-dye process that produces a radial spider pattern from the center. No two shirts come out identical, which is the nature of hand-dyed production, not a defect. If you are running a group order for a camp, school event, or youth sports team, account for the pattern variation in your pitch to the buyer so expectations match delivery.
The 100% cotton base takes overprinting well. Screen printing with a white underbase on the dyed surface blocks the spider pattern and lets artwork read cleanly. DTF transfers bond to the cotton face and sit on top of the dye pattern. For designs that incorporate the tie-dye as the background, print bold single-color graphics with high-opacity ink. Fine halftone detail tends to get lost in the pattern noise.
