The Russell Athletic 698HBM is a 9.3 oz 50/50 cotton/polyester Dri Power crewneck sweatshirt with moisture-wicking technology and sustainably sourced USA-grown cotton. The heavyweight 9.3 oz three-end fleece construction produces a dense, durable body that holds up to industrial laundering in workwear and team programs. The Dri Power technology wicks moisture, which is unusual for a heavyweight crew and gives it an edge over standard non-wicking 50/50 fleece.
For decorators, the 50/50 blend means polyester dye migration is a factor at cure temperature. DTF transfers are the most practical method because the film bonds to the fleece face and blocks migration. Screen printing with plastisol needs a poly-blocking underbase and moderate cure on all coloured grounds. DTG is possible but the 50% polyester mutes vibrancy compared to cotton-majority blanks. Discharge ink will not strip dye from the polyester fibre. The Oxford variant is 48/52 cotton/poly, slightly poly-heavy, requiring the same precautions. Rib knit collar, cuffs, and waistband hold their shape. Made with sustainably sourced USA-grown cotton.
