The Paragon SM0220 is a 3.5 oz 100% microfiber polyester long sleeve performance hoodie with a self-fabric 2-ply hood, UPF 50+ sun protection, Paragon Plus moisture and odor management, and a wrinkle-resistant finish. At that weight it sits in a different category than a fleece hoodie: it is a technical performance blank built for sublimation, DTF, and event programs where moisture-wicking and UV protection matter as much as decoration quality. Screen printing and event shops use it for outdoor runs, tournaments, team uniforms, camp programs, and staff kits where a cotton-poly fleece hoodie would be too heavy and too slow-drying.
The fabric composition is what determines every decoration decision on the SM0220. Solid colours are 100% microfiber polyester, which makes full-coverage sublimation the correct first choice: it produces a breathable, soft-hand all-over print with no hand-feel because the dye becomes the fibre rather than sitting on top of it. For sublimation to work fully, the blank must be white or a light solid colour; dark and saturated solid SM0220 colours (Navy, Black, Graphite) are not sublimation substrates, because disperse dyes cannot lighten a dark ground. Route dark-colour SM0220 work to DTF, which bonds cleanly across the full polyester colour range. For screen printing plastisol on any SM0220 colour, a low-bleed poly-block underbase and a reduced cure temperature are required to control dye migration; the lighter 3.5 oz microfiber fabric is more susceptible to ink show-through on thin deposits than a heavier fleece body, so use a thicker squeegee pass and back the panel with a firm platen insert. Vinyl and HTV work on all colours at a reduced time and temperature consistent with 100% polyester. Embroidery is possible on left-chest placements with a cut-away stabiliser, but the lightweight microfiber face is more susceptible to needle distortion than heavier knit substrates, so keep stitch counts moderate. The Heather Grey colourway is a heather blend at 4.7 oz with UPF 30 rather than 50+; it is not recommended for sublimation because its mixed-fibre construction will not produce the same vibrancy as the 100% poly solids, so route Heather Grey to DTF or screen print with a poly-block.
