The Gildan G728L (72800L) Women's DryBlend Double Pique Polo is built on 6.3 oz 65/35 polyester/ring-spun cotton double pique knit. The 65% polyester content provides DryBlend moisture-wicking performance across the full colorway range, while the 35% ring-spun cotton gives the pique a denser hand and a more stable embroidery surface than a fully synthetic knit. Double pique construction adds a tighter, finer texture to the face than single pique, which improves stitch registration for left-chest logo work and gives the garment a more structured appearance under a corporate uniform or uniform program.
Embroidery is the primary decoration method for the G728L. The double pique knit holds stitch density without requiring a heavy topping film, though a light tear-away backing stabilizes the contoured fit during hooping. Left-chest opposite the two-button placket is the standard placement. DTF transfers bond reliably to the 65% poly face across all 12 colorways and are the most practical route for full-color or multicolor decoration. Screen printing with plastisol works on the flat front and back panels; the poly-rich substrate requires a low-bleed ink or underbase on any colored ground to prevent dye migration under heat. DTG is not a practical route on the 65% polyester face.
