The Gildan G645P is the toddler version of the Softstyle line, built from 4.5 oz 100% ring-spun cotton with the same high stitch density that makes the adult G640 a preferred print substrate. That tighter knit face holds halftone detail and fine lines better than basic open-end cotton, which matters when scaling adult artwork down to a smaller toddler print area where every dot counts.
Standard solid colors run 100% ring-spun cotton. Sport Grey is 90/10 cotton/poly. Graphite Heather and Safety Green are 50/50 cotton/polyester, and Heather Irish Green and Heather Royal are 65/35 polyester/cotton (poly-majority). Those blend shifts change ink behavior: solids take discharge and water-based inks cleanly, 90/10 Sport Grey discharges with slight muting, and 50/50 or 65/35 colors need a poly-block underbase on screen and won't discharge at all. Sizes run 2T through 5/6T. CPSIA compliant with a taped neck, seamless 3/4" collar, and tear-away label.
Decoration and Printability
DTG prints land sharp on the cotton solids thanks to the high stitch density Softstyle face. Scale artwork to the toddler chest panel and keep fine detail proportional. DTF transfers are the most practical route for mixed-color orders, especially when the run includes both cotton solids and poly-blend heathers. Screen printers should use a poly-block underbase on the 50/50 and 65/35 colors, with moderate cure to control migration. Water-based and discharge inks work well on the 100% cotton solids for a soft hand.
