The Gildan G47V is a 4.7 oz 100% filament polyester women's performance V-neck designed for decoration programs that need a moisture-wicking substrate in a contoured women's silhouette. The 100% polyester construction enables full-colour dye sublimation on white and light solid colours, giving decorators a path to edge-to-edge photographic prints on a women's-specific cut. For screen print shops running event or sportswear orders, the filament polyester surface accepts plastisol with a low-bleed underbase and prints cleanly on solid colour garments. The snag-resistant fabric holds up through repeated wash cycles without pilling, which matters on decorated activewear that gets heavy use.
For sublimation, the G47V's 100% polyester body is the primary reason to choose it. Press at 385-400 F for 50-60 seconds with firm pressure on solid white or light solid colour garments. Full edge-to-edge coverage is achievable. The marbled colourways (Marbled Purple, Marbled Navy, Marbled Charcoal, Marbled Sapphire, Marbled Orange) are pre-marbled filament polyester and are NOT blank white substrates for sublimation. Route marbled colours to DTF or a short-run vinyl, not sublimation. For DTF heat transfer, the polyester surface bonds well with DTF adhesives across all colourways including marbled. Press at 275-290 F for 10-15 seconds with medium-firm pressure. For screen printing on solid colours, the 100% polyester content creates dye migration risk on reactive-dye shades. Use a low-bleed or poly-blocking plastisol underbase and cure at the minimum effective temperature. On Safety Pink in particular, test migration on a sample before committing a run. The contoured women's cut with forward flatlock stitched side seams and a 1/2-inch mitered V-neck collar requires careful platen sizing. Use a women's-cut platen and confirm the print area clears the V opening.
