The Gildan G424B is a 4.5 oz 100% polyester jersey knit youth performance long-sleeve tee built for high-volume decoration programs where moisture management and a consistent print substrate matter. The no-snag polyester construction and heat transfer CPSIA tracking label make it a clean, ready-to-decorate blank for school athletic programs, youth sports leagues, spirit week runs, and event merchandise. AquaFX wicking keeps the fabric comfortable during activity, and Freshcare anti-microbial treatment reduces odour retention through repeated wash cycles. For sublimation, use white or light-coloured G424B blanks only since the process requires a white base to achieve accurate colour reproduction. DTF heat transfers bond well to the polyester surface across all colours including darker shades, making DTF the preferred route for smaller runs and multi-colour chest prints on any colourway. For screen printing on white and light G424B shirts, standard plastisol inks work cleanly on the smooth polyester face. On coloured G424B shirts, the 100% polyester construction creates significant dye migration risk under heat. Use a high-opacity low-bleed or poly-blocking plastisol underbase and cure at the minimum effective temperature to prevent ink discolouration. Vinyl and HTV apply reliably on the flat polyester surface with standard time and temperature settings. DTG is not recommended as the polyester fibre does not accept pretreatment chemistry effectively and results in poor ink adhesion and coverage. For ANSI-compliant High Viz Safety Green, route to DTF or sublimation for the clearest, safest result; screen printing risks dulling the fluorescent dye.
