The Alternative AA9575 is a 6.5 oz Champ Eco-Fleece crewneck sweatshirt constructed from 50% polyester (6.25% recycled), 46% cotton (6.25% organic), and 4% rayon at 30 singles. The tri-blend fleece with recycled and organic content sits in a different category from standard 50/50 or 80/20 fleece blanks. The fabric is yarn-dyed and fabric-washed, which gives each colourway a heathered, worn-in appearance out of the package. Raglan sleeves and a slim unisex cut make it a retail-oriented blank that sits closer to a fashion crewneck than a traditional athletic sweatshirt.
The 50% polyester in the blend creates a dye migration risk that determines the decoration strategy. DTF transfers are the most practical method because the film bonds to the fleece face and blocks migration from the polyester content. Screen printing with plastisol needs a poly-blocking underbase and moderate cure on all colourways. DTG is possible but the 50% polyester mutes vibrancy compared to cotton-majority fleece. Discharge ink is not viable on a 50% polyester blend. The fabric-washed surface also means ink absorption differs from a standard-dyed fleece. Bound ribbed neckband, ribbed hem and cuffs, and coverstitched seams complete the build.
